Glycol-based automotive brake fluid is hydroscopic and will get contaminated and diluted by moisture; this lowers its ability to perform the task of maintaining pressure under braking demands and to not boil under the high temperatures that the brake system is subjected to – especially at the brake piston / calipers

Install a 9 Volt battery (not included)
POWER button and the unit will self-test
SELECT button … cycles from DOT 3 > 4 > 5.1
Immerse the probe into brake fluid
On-screen display indicates the results of testing
Clean the probe
